VIP treatment

I
personally think that registering for wedding gifts is a wonderful
thing.  When else can you create a list of exactly what you want
without your friends thinking your too presumptuous. Since this
registry time only comes once in your life, live it up.

While
window shopping the other day, I stopped into Crate&Barrel.
Evidently they agrees with my registration theory. They are taking the
special outing to a new level.  On Sundays they open early for you and
your betrothed.  Not only do you get the whole place to yourselves,
they also supply fresh juice, mimosas and pastries. YUM!

Not Again!

So
vests are back and I’m not happy about it.  Most of the 80’s/90’s
trends that are back I’m totally into; leggings, ballet flats, big
jewelry, big hair (one trend I personally can’t escape).  But, I must
say a big NO to vests.  In middle school I thought vests were soooo
cool.  I even borrowed some of my dad’s vests to wear to school.
Looking back though I must say it was such a yucky mistake.  In my
opinion vests are just adding more material around your waist and make
you look thicker and they way they buttons also emphasize your waist is
just something I want to avoid.  I’m not saying the right person
couldn’t make a vest look good (my sister Gracey can pull anything
off), I’m just saying that trust me, if you give in to this trend you
WILL regret it.   I say leave the vest to cute old men with pocket
watches :>

P.S.  If you can prove me wrong make a comment with a link to a picture or website with a vest working.

Permanent Vacation

I
admit that I am an avid “Lost” watcher.  My show was “Alias” but as it
ended its last season I transitioned to “Lost.”  Sam has been telling
me for awhile that the show is getting worse and worse and the plot is
going no where and until tonight I tried to act as if he were crazy.
However, after waiting until 10pm (who puts a hot show on that late?)
to watch tonight’s episode I fully agree with Sam.

Pretty
much all that happened in tonight’s episode is that some of the guys
found an old car and pushed it down a huge hill and laughed like little
boys.  That’s it.  Pretty boring.  Don’t get me wrong I was very happy
for the Lost boys... they deserve a fun car ride after being stuck on
that awful island, but... come on!  Oh, Sam also told me that the shows
ratings have dropped by 50% this year.  Hmmm... I wonder why?

Isabella's 1st Valentine

Last week a few of my friends and me had a little shower for our soon to be
mommy friend Erika.  Maureen, the host of the party made a super cute
string of paper letters that spelled out the baby’s name.  I loved it
so much that I decided Isabella needed something similar for her room
and the project became Isabella’s first Valentine from Mommy.

Here
are a few pictures of how it turned out.  I wanted Isabella to sit in
front of it but with out Sam here to help me get her to sit still the
results weren’t quite what I was going for.  I think they’re better!
Too funny.

Did you make a special Valentine?  If so send me a picture.

A fabulous new friend. Karen and Detailz Events

This
Friday I met another beautiful and fabulous new friend named Karen.
Karen is a wedding planner and designer.  She found out about me after
she had her family pictures with the lovely and talented Natasha Cuevas, whom I had lunch with a few weeks ago.

I
had such a great time meeting and talking with Karen.  She showed me a
bunch of her past design work she had done with past events and it was
amazing.  Her back ground is in fashion and has put on a bunch of big
fashion shows around here and in Chicago.  I love it that she has such
a fresh perspective on things and can bring her fashion flare to the
wedding design.  Not only that but she is such a genuine and
professional person and any bride would find her a dream to work with.

Karen
has a wide variety of packages that can fit every bride’s needs and
budget.  Whether you are the destination bride that needs her to do
everything from A to Z or the local bride that just wants someone there
on the day of to make things go smoother, Karen is a must have.

Her company is Detailz Events!  Check them out.
